Expired Polaroid Softtone - Polaroid Spectra - Ashley 01

Today I have a few expired Polaroid Softtone images that I took this past weekend with Ashley Krantz. Ashley's a model that I have been working with for quite a few  years now and she was nice enough to bring along some awesome wardrobe to this shoot from Lenni The Label. In these four photos, Ashely is sporting some lacey bell bottoms from Lenni. More images with more Lenni coming soon. Enjoy.

 

Expired Polaroid Softtone - Impossible Project PX680 Old Gen - Kids on Film

Just a few images of a few different nieces from this past week. Images one and two were taken with a Polaroid Spectra and some expired Polaroid Softtone. Image number three was taken with an SX70 sonar and some old gen Impossible Project PX680. Surprisingly good results from both films considering how far past their primes they are. Images like these are a good reminder of just how awesome and worthwhile instant film can be. Enjoy.

Polaroid Week 2013 - Expired Polaroid Softtone - Cassie

I feel like I haven't posted to this blog in ages. A lot of that has to do with the fact that I haven't been shooting quite as much instant film lately due to my year long Roll-A-Week project (which you can find here). However, this is Polaroid week and I felt it was necessary to make some kind of post this week while I still have the time. 

These images, all shot this past Saturday, are with local Cleveland model Cassie who's with Taxi Model Management. We shot a bunch of digital and some film throughout the day but I also brought along one of my last couple packs of expired Polaroid Softtone film to shoot with my Spectra. This film is most definitely past it's prime, but, as you can see I got some pretty good results from a couple of the photos that I took (the close ups working out much better than the wider shots.)

Expired Polaroid Image Softone - Polaroid Spectra - Ashley

After a nice long Thanksgiving weekend I'm back with a couple images from an impromptu shoot that I ended up doing this past Friday. Ashley is a model that I have shot with many times before (you can find multiple images of her throughout this blog) and someone that I always end up getting good images with. This particular time we were focused much more on simple, natural digital images that could possibly be used on comp cards, but, I did manage to sneak in a few photos using this expired Polaroid Image film.

All shot (obviously) with a Polaroid Spectra, these images were taken with available light, a reflector and no flash. I've had this film sitting around for a while now in my fridge (it was purchased from the Impossible Project's website some time ago) and finally decided that I may as well pull it out and try to put it to good use. I didn't end up shooting a whole pack, but, the ones I did shoot I think came out pretty well. Also, If you are interested in this film and have a spectra I do believe there is still some stock available through the Impossible Project for the time being. I highly recommend it if you've never shot with it before. 

Polaroid Softtone Type 1200 - An Affinity for Signs

This past Tuesday Aperture had their second polaroid walk. We traveled the Ohio City area as a group, shooting all kinds of instant photos along the way. I had a bit of trouble this time around finding things that inspired me to shoot. In fact I often find it difficult these days to shoot an entire pack of film at once... partially because I'm picky, partially because of cost.


Anyways. I did get these couple photos that I liked, and, both happen to be of signs. No surprise to me really, as I often find signs to be interesting and have taken photos of many signs over the past couple years. I love that they are often all that remains of original buildings, businesses, etc. There's just some kind of an affinity I have for signs I guess.

On another note, you'll probably notice that these photos are a little different for me for another reason. This is some 2009 expired Polaroid Softtone Type 1200 film. I shot it using a Polaroid Spectra QPS, which is one of the new cameras that I picked up from the supposed "junk," shop in Erie this past weekend. The Softtone is a great film, but almost too accurate for me. It's sad to see these types of films dying out, but I'm glad that I've gotten the chance to shoot so many of them before they are gone completely. I'm excited to shoot Impossible's new PZ 680 to see what else I can get out of this camera...
