Consumed.

I've been completely consumed by photos today. Looking at them, thinking about them, taking them; it's a nice place to hide. Naturally, the progression took me to retouching another photo from my last shoot that I haven't had time to get to yet, and I'm glad it did... I really like the way this turned out.

(as always, I recommend clicking the photo for full view)

Lucy

Lucy Dominga... one of my absolute favorite models to work with. You really can't take a bad photo of her. These are from the last time I had the chance to work with her in March of this past year.

Editorial Fashion

Around the end of November I did a shoot with a local model, Ashley. She was the first model that I shot with Impossible's Polaroid film, which I posted a while back. These, however, are some of the other images that we shot that day.

The goal for this shoot, being confined to a studio because of Ohio's beautiful winter weather and a lack of other locations to work with, was to create a solid set of editorial style images that could all hang together. Luckily, Ashley planned the perfect wardrobe selections to make it all come together.

These are just a few of my favorite images from the shoot... and if you are interested, and have not already seen it, there is also a behind the scenes video from the shoot that day which you can find at the link below. (Which I should mention was shot and edited by Mike Paukst who is usually kind enough to assist me with most of my recent shoots)

Enjoy.

Impossible Project PX70 PUSH Part VII & Impossible Project PX600 Silver Shade II

This past Friday I worked with a traveling model from Maryland as she passed through on a three month cross-country trip. It was a long night, but I'm excited to say that I got some really good Polaroids from the shoot. Which is good news, since I needed a few more shots for a gallery show that is coming up in March (more on that in the near future).

Now, I recognize that I've never posted any nudity on this blog... somewhat by choice since I know that it is frequented more often than my actual website. But, like someone recently told me, people need to get over nudity being taboo. How can you look at these photos and see anything other than how beautiful Polaroids can be

The photos above are Impossible Project's PX70 Push and PX600 Silver Shade, respectively. Both images are lit with tungsten hot lights, a mixture of 1k's and 650w Fresnel.

For good measure, I will also leave you with two images from the same night that I shot digitally.

Impossible Project PX600 Silver Shade

Picked up a Polaroid One Step over the Holidays as well as a pack of the Impossible PX600 Silver Shade film. This film is really quite finicky when it comes to temperature, but it's been fun shooting it and seeing the different looks that can come out of just one film depending on how you control it after the shot.

This shot is from Continental Ohio, where I was shooting some interview content this past Monday. It's way out on the border of Western Ohio, all corn fields and flat land. This is the backyard of where we were filming that day.

I had some light exposure after the shot, which ended up really ghosting out this image, but I kind of prefer it that way.
